Chuck Meets His Rock Idol ... Well ... Kind Of
Chuck was very fond of Paul Stanley from Kiss. It was a running topic of discussion that often came up. In September 2015, I traveled out to Cali to see Chuck and Margaret and there were plans to go see AC/DC at Dodger Stadium. Chuck and I ventured out to the Stanton Swap Meet, as Chuck told me that for $2 (yes ... $2) we could get into the swap meet and see 2 bands ... one of which was KISS tribute band. How could we resist? We made our way into the swap meet, grabbed a beer or two and found a great seat close to the stage. The KISS tribute band was AWESOME, nailing their set of 1975 KISS Alive set. After, the band was mingling through the crowd (stage-wear and makeup still on) and I prompted Chuck to pose for a picture with the guy that played the role of Paul Stanley. After we took the photo, Chuck came over looking a little disappointed. "That guy is pretty haggard!", he said. I quickly responded back, "That's OK. You can post the photo on Instagram and just put that you got to meet METH STANLEY". This was a great laugh and we kept coming back to the topic for all the way back to the house ... and for many years after.
